ALBILLO MAYOR FROM RECOVERED VINEYARDS

Melior rescues the wine-making heritage and tradition of the Ribera del Duero region by producing this wine from Albillo Mayor grapes.

This delicate grape with great personality is the result of the recovery of vineyards that are not very widespread but play an important role in the Ribera. We are dealing with a variety that covers barely 500 hectares, just over 2% of the appellation's vineyard area.

Every detail has been taken care of in the production of this wine, notably its careful and meticulous fermentation in new, lightly toasted French oak barrels for four months. In this vintage, Melior de Matarromera Albillo has a limited production of only 12 barrels.

WINE TASTING

Visual

This wine dazzles from the outset with its delicate straw-yellow colour, steel edges and bright sparkles.

Nose

The nose unfolds a subtle symphony, direct and frank, with aromas of water pear, green banana peel and hints of white flowers. On tasting, there are also surprising soft tones of toasted bread and fine spices obtained after ageing in the barrel.

Palate

On the palate, it is a very pleasant and flavourful wine. Its fresh and delicate finish of soft grapefruit invites us to enjoy another glass.

PAIRING

This is a very gastronomic white wine, making it fantastic for aperitif time. It pairs especially well with all kinds of mushrooms, seafood, white fish and vegetables.

Surprise yourself by pairing it with herb-infused butters or mild cheeses such as creamy or fresh cheeses.
