A BLEND OF SENSATIONS
Melior 3 is a tribute to the region of Castile and León. It is a creation where three vineyards come together to create an exceptional wine, the best of the land and vineyards in a single glass.
The grapes come from selected vineyards: the Pago de las Costanas provides a unique fruit, a Tempranillo grape rich in fruity and mineral aromas. The Pago de la Calera vineyard, with its local variety, gives the wine a spectacular freshness with balsamic notes and a smooth structure of ripe tannins. The Valdebaniego vineyard brings the essence of the region's Tempranillo, with aromas of black and red fruit and a lively tannin structure that completes the wine. Each grape is harvested and vinified in its region of origin to ensure maximum expressiveness on the nose and good tannin maturity. Each plot is monitored to harvest the grapes at the optimum moment. Temperature-controlled fermentation helps to preserve all the characteristic aromatic potential of each area.
The wine is aged for at least 12 months in American and French oak barrels. This process leads each wine to excellence, providing the winemaker with three wines of the highest quality for the final blend of Melior 3.
Very well presented wine. Deep cherry red colour with bluish hues indicative of proper ageing.
Its complexity is already apparent on the nose, with balsamic notes and red and black fruit intermingling with hints of spice, coconut and vanilla from its time in the barrel.
On the palate, it is lively and vibrant. It has a good attack thanks to its lively acidity. Elegant evolution in line with the maturity of its tannins. Persistent and long finish. A wine to be enjoyed on its own or accompanied by good food, but always in good company.
Melior, from the Latin Melior–Melioris, means “the best.” The spirit of Melior speaks for itself: young wines with a classic touch, born to be enjoyed around the world. Melior represents a fascinating journey through three of the classic appellations of Castilla y León.
The range includes a Tempranillo oak-aged red, Albillo Mayor, Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as a Tempranillo–Tinta de Toro blend and Melior 9 Months, the brand’s latest release.
