PURE ALBARIÑO FROM RÍAS BAIXAS
Throughout his life, Carlos Moro’s main motivation has been to harness the varietal potential of the finest wine-growing regions in Spain. A lover of Galician wines, in 2022 he created Viña Caeira, an exciting project rooted in an impressive Albariño vineyard that tells the story of Rías Baixas, Salvaterra do Miño and Condado do Tea.
The existing terroir is a true gift for producing outstanding Albariño wines. Viña Caeira is the result of the meeting between a man and an appellation, that of Rías Baixas, where work is carried out every day to give meaning to our objective: to be Pure Albariño.
Viña Caeira was born with a firm commitment to enhancing the Albariño grape, native to the Rías Baixas DO. This variety, with Galician as its mother tongue, has become one of the most highly regarded and valued grapes worldwide. It is therefore no surprise that our motivation is to care for our vineyard to the highest standards, every trellis and every vine, as they are our origin and our future.
Straw-yellow in colour with golden hues, clean and bright.
Clean and direct, with good intensity. Citrus notes of lime stand out alongside fruity aromas of green apple and apricot. A subtle tropical hint of passion fruit, combined with a mentholated, fennel-like vegetal background, adds persistence and balance.
A well-balanced wine with a distinctly Atlantic character, showing well-integrated acidity and salinity. Good mid-palate weight, where the fruity and vegetal notes are perfectly integrated.
In keeping with the philosophy of purity and quality that defines Bodega Viña Caeira, we recommend enjoying our Albariño with a plate of oysters.
A wine and a food that symbolise the purity of land and sea. When opened, they reveal an endless array of nuances, memories, aromas and flavours. Thanks to its great potential and vibrant acidity, this is a highly gastronomic wine that pairs confidently with a wide range of dishes.
Carlos Moro chose the name of a family estate, Valle de los Frailes, for his project in the Cigales DO. This area traditionally produced many claret wines, but his idea was to completely revamp cultivation, create a new-style winery and produce excellent red wines for ageing.
Bodega Valdelosfrailes brings modernity, technology and innovation to the classicism of a land with great potential.
