THE POWER TO CAPTURE TIME
It is made from grapes grown in a legendary area of Ribera del Duero: Valbuena de Duero. It was aged for 24 months in oak barrels, followed by three more years of bottle ageing.
This red wine is not released onto the market until 6 or 7 years after harvest. This is why the experience of tasting Matarromera Gran Reserva is totally unique and different. Matarromera Gran Reserva, made in Ribera del Duero, is a wine that has been modernised thanks to the elegance provided by its ageing in predominantly French barrels of the highest quality and the roundness given by the bottle.
VINEYARD
San Román is one of Matarromera's most emblematic vineyards, surrounding the winery in the municipality of Valbuena de Duero, on a steep limestone slope above the River Duero. The Finca de las Celadillas vineyard is located in Olivares de Duero, also very close to the winery. Both vineyards are planted with traditional Tempranillo vines that produce Matarromera Gran Reserva.
