Emina Crianza is a red wine made from Tempranillo grapes grown in Bodega Emina's vineyards on the northern slopes of Valbuena de Duero, very close to the Monastery of Santa María de Valbuena. The deep, chalky soils produce a fresh and fruity wine.

AN ELEGANT AND MODERN PROJECT
Emina Crianza is a very modern Tempranillo, where the expression of its elegant black and red fruit combines perfectly with spicy aromas and fine woods from the forests of France and the United States, where the barrels in which it is aged for 12 months come from.
This wine comes from the best plots that Bodega Emina Ribera has in Valbuena de Duero, bathed by the waters of the River Duero. The vineyards are located near the Monastery of Santa María de Valbuena, the birthplace of wine, where Cistercian monks reintroduced vine cultivation in the Middle Ages. They are located between 750 and 910 metres above sea level in the moorland area.
The combination of both terroirs achieves a balance between freshness and voluptuousness that gives it perfect equilibrium.
A very deep cardinal colour with intense purple tones and a very dense robe.
This is a lively, intense and fresh wine. It has aromas of tart red fruits such as raspberry and redcurrant with a hint of lavender. The clean and smooth tertiary notes from the ageing process also stand out, with hints of cloves, fine roasted notes, noble woods and elegant nuances of dark chocolate.
We discover a wine with good nerve and a lively skeleton of sweet tannins which, well combined with a measured acidity, give the wine expressiveness and length. In addition, we find the same sensations present on the nose, as fresh fruit, dark cocoa, liquorice and soft roasted notes reappear.
Emina Crianza is a medium-bodied red wine with medium acidity. It has aromas of red and black fruits, spices and fine woods. It is a versatile wine that can be enjoyed on any occasion, but we recommend pairing it with foie gras.
An ideal recipe to accompany Emina Crianza is foie gras with caramelised apples. The intense, creamy flavour of the foie gras complements the wine's acidity and tannins well. The caramelised apples add a sweet, contrasting touch that rounds off the pairing.
This pairing is an excellent choice for a special dinner. Foie gras is a delicate, sophisticated food that requires a wine that can accompany it without overpowering it.
EMINA is much more than two wineries in two key designations of origin in our country, Ribera del Duero and Rueda. It owes its name to the “hemina”, the daily ration of wine that a Cistercian monk was allowed to drink.
Carlos Moro conceived the soul of Emina in the late 1990s as two projects for producing quality wines committed to sustainability and the environment. Emina Ribera is the first comprehensive winery project in the world and the first Spanish company to calculate the carbon footprint of one of its wines.
