TRADITION AND PASSION
Emina has always been a wine of emotions, a wine that seeks to convey the wisdom of the terroir and the vineyard. In this case, the wine also seeks to share a passion for viticulture and winemaking.
This wine is pampered from its origins in the vineyard where, thanks to microbiology, no chemicals are used, in keeping with the brand's commitment to sustainability. Once in the winery, after a brief period in new American oak barrels, the wine is transferred to lighter bottles that help reduce its carbon footprint.
The Viñas Rosas and Vermilión plots are located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero's golden mile. These vineyards are situated near the Monastery of Santa María de Valbuena, the birthplace of the Ribera del Duero, where Cistercian monks reintroduced vine cultivation in the Middle Ages.
We observe a deep colour with blue, purple and cardinal tones, expressing all its youth.
A lively and expressive wine, with fresh aromas of red fruits such as blackberry, redcurrant and myrtle, with elegant tertiary notes from its time in the barrel, with fine roasted notes, coffee, lactones and liquorice.
It has a good structure, is easy to drink and can be enjoyed on any occasion. It has a medium structure with a retronasal aroma of tart red fruits. Long finish and silky tannins.
Excellent for drinking with a wide range of appetisers. With Emina Pasión, try it with cold meats, cheeses, stews, carpaccios or duck foie gras and raspberry jam. It also goes well with grilled meats and oily fish such as salmon.
We recommend pairing Emina Pasión with steak tartare. The harmony will be incredible and the flavours of both the dish and the wine will be enhanced.
EMINA is much more than two wineries in two key designations of origin in our country, Ribera del Duero and Rueda. It owes its name to the “hemina”, the daily ration of wine that a Cistercian monk was allowed to drink.
Carlos Moro conceived the soul of Emina in the late 1990s as two projects for producing quality wines committed to sustainability and the environment. Emina Ribera is the first comprehensive winery project in the world and the first Spanish company to calculate the carbon footprint of one of its wines.
