The elegance of the Avia Valley

Finca Palmeira Sanclodio originates from the vineyard that gives it its name, in the Avia Valley, in Gomariz (Ourense), just a few metres from the winery. Its soils of sandy loam, slate and schist, combined with a climate strongly influenced by the Atlantic, lend this unique Ribeiro an unrivalled natural freshness and finesse.

Made from Treixadura, Loureira and Albariño, the grapes are harvested by hand into 18-kilo crates to preserve the integrity and freshness of the fruit. In the winery, meticulous handling and gentle pressing ensure that only the must with the lowest extraction is used in the wine. After fermentation, the wine remains in contact with its fine lees: part in tanks and part in French oak vats. After a few months, both batches are blended into the final coupage that you are tasting today.

WINE TASTING

Visual

In the glass, it stands out for its greenish-yellow hues, typical of its youth, and a pronounced tear that hints at a full-bodied palate.

Nose

On the nose, it is complex, with hints of stone fruit and floral notes, as well as a subtle spicy touch from the cask.

Palate

On the palate, it offers good acidity, balanced by its body and richness, and finishes with an exceptionally long aftertaste.

PAIRING

The perfect wine to enjoy with scallops, shellfish, fish and all the bounty of the sea. It also pairs well with salads, rice dishes and white meat.

Bodega San Clodio

Convinced of the greatness of Galician white wines, Carlos Moro ventures into the heart of the Avia Valley to preserve the identity of Bodega Sanclodio, its ten hectares of terraced vineyards and a 15th-century building. This Ribeiro, which takes its name from the neighbouring monastery, is a blend dominated by Treixadura, accompanied by Godello, Albariño and the highly prized Loureira grapes.

The result: a great pleasure to look at, smell and taste.
