CM Albariño Sobre Lías. This wine is made from grapes grown in one of the highest quality areas of Rías Baixas, on the banks of the Tea River. Vineyards on fertile siliceous soils, resulting from the decomposition of granite. In its trellised vineyard, which stretches along the course of the river, we can see how the Albariño grapes, so renowned in this Galician designation of origin, grow and ripen.
COUNTY OF TEA - RIAS BAIXAS
CM Albariño 2022 has been made with the care and attention needed to respect the subtlety of the delicate Albariño grapes from the estate. The grapes are harvested by hand in 15 kg boxes, as required by the vineyard's trellis system, and transported immediately to the winery. Fermentation at a low temperature over a long period of time guarantees varietal aromas characteristic of the terroir. After fermentation, the wine is aged on lees for approximately 4 months, where it acquires the perfect balance between complexity on the nose and balance on the palate, expressing freshness and character.
Finca Pesqueiras is a vineyard with trellises characteristic of this area of Galicia. In it, the green parts (leaves and vines) are located at a height of 2.20 metres above the ground, forming a horizontal canopy that helps to capture as much sunlight as possible, which is crucial on cloudy days in Rías Baixas, while also preventing direct sunlight from reaching the bunches that hang loosely under the foliage, promoting aeration.
It has a yellow colour with greenish and steely tones, clean and very bright.
Lively and very direct nose with good intensity, highlighting citrus aromas of lime among subtle balsamic notes of eucalyptus, with fresh stone and white fruits such as apricot and green apple. Suggestive tropical background of green pineapple among hints of freshly cut grass.
It is a balanced wine with an Atlantic character, with well-integrated acidity and salinity. It has a good mid-palate, broad, where fruity and vegetal notes stand out, with a lively, fresh finish.
Behind the initials of its creator, winemaker and entrepreneur Carlos Moro, lie wines, several oenological gems that take us to the heart of Rioja Alta, specifically to San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
Bodega CM de Matarromera has more than 20 hectares of its own vineyards in the Rioja DOCa, one of which has been declared Singular: Viña Garugele. Since its creation in 2014, it has sought to preserve traditions by using animal traction in its old vineyards to ensure the utmost respect for the soil. In addition to its commitment to sustainability and obtaining the corresponding certifications, the century-old building that houses the winery has been restored to offer not only the best wines, but also a luxury wine tourism experience.
