Designation of Origin Rueda
Carlos Moro Finca Las Marcas (Designation of Origin Rueda) is a white wine of the Verdejo variety that has been fermented and matured in new French oak barrels each vintage. It is carefully produced with grapes selected from our estate in Las Marcas under the strict supervision of Carlos Moro. The estate has very qualitative poor soils with a sandy texture, which are perfect for making exceptional wines and is located in the basin of the Duero River, an area with a wide temperature range.
It is a very elegant wine that ferments for 6 months in fine-grained French oak barrels. Its lees are stirred to achieve a wine that is not only fresh and young but also deep and lingering, acquiring its best properties over time. After fermentation, it remains 6 months on its lees in the same French barrels fine fermentation, to obtain fat, elegant and unforgettable wine.
The vineyard
Las Marcas Estate is a Burgundy vineyard located in Villaba de Adaja (Valladolid) with 5,000 strains per hectare, a property that obtains excellent grapes for making wines for laying down. Only natural products and autochthonous yeasts are used in the growing process, respecting the variety aromas as much as possible.
The wine
This wine has a barley straw yellow colour with bright greenish rims. In the nose, high intensity, maturity and elegance stand out. Multiple nuances, aromas of fruits with seed and tropical notes of pineapple among herbal anise and white flowers in perfect balance with the aromas of the barrel, butter, vanilla, toffee and Cedar wood.
In the mouth it is very elegant, fat and velvety, providing excellent sensations of citrus, subtle tropical and lightly smoked aromas with elegant balsamic hints, as well as a long, fresh, lively and very balanced finish.
