Designation of Origin Cigales
Valdelosfrailes Crianza is a red wine made from Tempranillo variety grapes from our own vineyards in the Designation of origin Cigales. It is a very elegant wine that combines the fruity nuances of Tempranillo with some minerality, the touch provided by its 12-month ageing in French and American oak barrels and the personality of this Winery.
VINEYARD
The Tempranillo grapes used to make Valdelosfrailes Crianza come from our own vineyards located between the villages of Cubillas de Santa Marta and Quintanilla de Trigueros, very close to the Valdelosfrailes Winery. Their soils are formed from the alluvials of the Pisuerga river with a limestone bottom and pebbles, which ensure a slow and contained ripening of the grapes.
Viñas Viejas and Las Sallanas are located in Cubillas de Santa Marta. These are Miocene plots with poor, siliceous soils covered with pebbles.
Terrón Blanco and El Horno are our estates in Quintanilla de Trigueros, with very steep hillsides and very loam soils rich in limestone. The special care taken in our labours enables us to obtain a limited quantity of high quality grapes with the desired nuances of elegance and minerality.
THE WINE
This deep cardinal colour wine has intense purplish tones and clear aromas of black fruit, with the pleasant minerality of the plots it comes from, in perfect balance with hints of lactones, roasted coffee and liquorice from the American oak, with spicy notes from the soft toasting French oak barrels. In the mouth it is a fresh wine with a lively acidity and black fruit taste, combining elegant roasted coffee notes, mild spices, with a highly complex mineral and lightly-smoked background with an elegant, intense and lingering finish.

Matarromera Crianza (D.O. Ribera del Duero) es el buque insignia de Bodega Matarromera. Es la muestra palpable del equilibrio entre fruta y madera que tanto caracteriza a la bodega. Un vino elaborado con uvas de la variedad Tempranillo que se cría en barricas de roble americano y francés durante 12 meses en salas con humedad controlada y una iluminación tenue. Tras esta crianza, el vino pasa a la botella donde termina de pulirse hasta que está listo para salir de la bodega.
MARIDAJE: Para maridar Matarromera Crianza, proponemos todo tipo de carnes, tanto blancas como rojas, pero también es perfecto para otro tipo de platos como arroces y pastas. La clave está en elegir un buen acompañante (o varios) y disfrutar de cada copa y de cada brindis.

Tras dos años en botella, el vino estará listo para saciar los más exigentes.
