Emina Reserva is one of the quintessential red wines of the DO Ribera del Duero. It comes from our 25-year-old vineyards in the Valdebaniego hamlet. It is only produced when the vintage is suitable for meeting the required quality and its production is limited by a great meticulousness and dedication during the winemaking process. A double selection of grapes is made first in the vineyard and then in the winery. Its fermentation and maceration are carried out in stainless steel tanks followed by malolactic fermentation, which is partially made in French Allier oak barrels.
DESCRIPTION
An excellent red wine made from grapes of the Tempranillo or fine red wine variety, grown in limestone plots facing the south along the Duero River in Valbuena de Duero. Its good background of marls and clay provides the necessary vegetative development of an elegant and fresh Reserva wine with the typical properties of limestone concentration.
After making a double selection of its grapes, it is matured for 16 months in French oak barrels from the Allier forests, where the haute futaie growing technique is performed.
TASTING
Visual phase: An upper layer of intense and bright cherry colour with strong purplish tones.
The nose is mature, penetrating, very clean and intense with aromas of red and dark fruits. Spicy notes of clove, roasted coffee, tobacco, cocoa, leather and nuts derived from its maturation in barrels on a background with primary varietals of fruit compote and some lactic notes.
In the mouth, it is wide, intense, hot and very elegant; it has a lively skeleton of sweet tannins that balance the wine with the aromas of wood. Long and very lingering finish.
The result is a well-balanced and subtle wine with an excellent body and structure.
