The fusion of tradition and refinement

This exclusive, limited-production Gran Vino de Rueda is made from Verdejo grapes grown in vineyards planted in 1988 in the municipality of La Seca. Its uniqueness lies in the careful blending of three wines produced using three different fermentation and aging techniques: oak, stainless steel, and cocciopesto.

French oak barrels lend it body, complexity, and hints of vanilla and spice. Aging on its lees in stainless steel tanks for 10 months imparts freshness and preserves the Verdejo’s aromatic purity, adding subtle notes of pastries. Finally, the 10 months spent in cocciopesto amphorae—a material used by the Romans as early as the 1st century B.C.—allow for a slight micro-oxygenation that imparts stability, minerality, and excellent aging potential.

VINEYARD

The unique identity and personality of Bodega Sanclodio wines come from sábrego, the characteristic decomposed granite soil of the Ribeiro vineyards. A very distinctive feature of the area, present in the cultivation of these lands since the first millennium.

WINE TASTING

Visual

Greenish-yellow in color, with a appearance that reflects its exuberant youth.

Nose

It reveals its complexity through a blend of stone fruit and anise notes with mineral hints, all underpinned by hints of vanilla and spices derived from its fermentation in barrels and amphorae.

Palate

It impresses right from the start. Powerful yet refreshing, with exquisite acidity and a velvety texture thanks to its aging on fine lees. The finish is very long, with fruit, minerality, and subtle notes of pastries and wood.

PAIRING

El Emina Verdejo Selección Cuvée es un vino para disfrutar solo, pero también marida a la perfección con carnes grasas de gran calidad, mariscos en salsa, aves, platos de arroz y platos ligeramente especiados.

Bodega Emina

EMINA is much more than two wineries in two key designations of origin in our country, Ribera del Duero and Rueda. It owes its name to the “hemina”, the daily ration of wine that a Cistercian monk was allowed to drink.

Carlos Moro conceived the soul of Emina in the late 1990s as two projects for producing quality wines committed to sustainability and the environment. Emina Ribera is the first comprehensive winery project in the world and the first Spanish company to calculate the carbon footprint of one of its wines.
